Riviera ISD is completing its second year with an Early College campus offering our students the opportunity to graduate high school with college credit hours, as well as an Associate’s Degree from Coastal Bend College.

When thclass of 2019 become seniors, we will have students who walk the 
stage with an Associate’s Degree at Coastal Bend College, and then walk the 
stage with 
a high schoodiploma at Kaufer High School. Those students earning 
a degree andiploma will participate in both graduation ceremonies at 
absolutely ncost for tuition, fees, or books!

T
he Riviera Seahawk Early College Academy provides opportunities for all students to advance toward successfully attaining college credit hours and skilled job opportunities in thworkforce.  The program is designed to support student interest in college ancareers and to personalize learning Our studentnot only learn how to navigate thcollege online systems of Blackboard and CampuConnect, but also how to communicate through Google documents and email. All students have the opportunity to earn Microsoft, Chief Architecture anCertified Nurse’s 
Aide certifications.

S
tudents who enroll in the Riviera Seahawk Early College Academy also have the opportunity participate in all of the sports, clubs, and other activities that Kaufer High School affords. Early College students at Riviera have the best of both worlds-one which provides structure, support, and accelerated 
coursework while enjoying all of thactivities of a regular high school.  This “school within a school” model includes specific access tcollege facilities, 
c
ollege support systems including tutoring anmentoring, as well as college 
campus visits.

I
n addition, our students graduate from high school on the Foundation Program with an Endorsement on the Distinguished Level.  Students may choose from all five endorsements offered by the state. Our endorsement pathways include agriculture welding, veterinary science, wildlife management, engineering, interior design and architecture, fashion design, business, ancertified nurses assistant, as well as a fine arts pathway in band and art.

To 
begin the application process, eighth grade students must first submit 
commitmenapplication, and parents must agree to participate in all parent 
events. It is mandatory that all ECHS students participate in a fouday, “Jump 
Start to College” summer program June 5  8, 2017.  This four-day program help
create that college-going attitude andevelop essential skills for success when students take their first college class in the Fall of 2017.

The application deadline foECHS is June 1,2017. Students who submit their application by that date will be able to participate in all spring events.  This includes our ECHS Celebration and SenioCollege Signing Day on April 28.  Ounew ECHS parents and their child will also participate in our ECHS Spring Parent 
Dinner on 
May 4.  This dinner is an opportunity for all of our parents to network 
and learn 
more about the program. Students, alsoshowcase their work.

tudent Transfers (intRiviera ISD) must complete the transfer application in Riviera ISD fothe 2017-2018 school year, as well as the Riviera Seahawk Early College Academy.
